Application tips
Wash and disinfect your and your client’s hands. Put on gloves. Assess the condition of the hands and nails to ensure there are no contraindications to the treatment.
Push back cuticles with a pusher or stick and work them with e-file bits (e.g. 9, 1).
Shape the nails using a 180/240 or 100/180 grit file.
Use a 100/180 grit buffer to thoroughly matt the nail plate.
Remove dust with a soft brush.
Thoroughly degrease the nail plate with a lint-free wipe soaked in Cleaner No.1.
Apply the appropriate primer (Acid Free Primer or Acid Primer).
Apply a thin layer of base coat and cure for 30 seconds in a MultiLed lamp.
Apply a second, thicker layer of base to gently even out or build the nail if needed. You can level the surface using a thin brush (e.g. Master Nail Art 007) or turn the hand over to use gravity to shape the upper arch. Cure again for up to 60 seconds.
Apply the first layer of colour without pressing the brush against the nail plate and cure for 30 seconds.
Apply the second coat. Use Master Nail Art Brush 004 or 006 around the cuticle area and sidewalls if needed. Cure for 30 seconds.
Secure the styling with a top coat (e.g. Tip Top or Wet Look) and cure again for 30–60 seconds.
Wait at least 60 seconds for the top to cool down.
If you chose a top coat with a sticky layer, remove it with a cotton pad soaked in Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner 3.
A non-sticky top coat does not need wiping. After waiting about 1 minute, you can apply your chosen Shea Elixir with keratin.
For extra shine, polish the nails with a dry cotton pad at the end.
PRO TIP: Do not press the brush from the gel polish bottle against the nail surface. This helps the colour distribute and self-level more evenly, without streaks.
