Application tips
Wash and disinfect your and your client’s hands. Put on gloves. Evaluate the condition of the hands and nails to make sure there are no contraindications to the treatment.
Push back the cuticles with a pusher or stick and work them out with an e-file bit (e.g. 9, 1).
Shape your nails with a 180/240 or 100/180 grit file.
Use a 100/180 grit buffer to thoroughly matt the plate.
Remove dust with a soft brush.
Using a lint-free swab and Cleaner No.1, thoroughly degrease the plate.
Apply a suitable primer (Acid Free Primer or Acid Primer).
Apply a thin layer of the chosen base and cure in the lamp (30 seconds in a MultiLed lamp).
Apply a second, thicker layer of base to gently level or build the nail if needed. You can level the surface using a thin brush such as Master Nail Art 007 or turn your hand over to use gravity to shape the upper arch. Cure again. Due to the thicker layer, you may extend curing time to 60 seconds.
Apply the first layer of colour without pressing the brush to the nail surface and cure for 30 seconds.
Cover the plate with a second coat of colour. You can refine the cuticle area and side walls with the Master Nail Art brush 004 or 006. Cure for 30 seconds.
Secure the styling with a top coat such as Tip Top or Wet Look and cure for 30–60 seconds.
Wait at least 60 seconds for the top to cool.
If you chose a top with a sticky layer*, remove it with a cotton pad soaked in Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner #3.
For extra shine, you can polish the nails with a dry cotton pad at the end.
*If you chose a top without a sticky layer, there is no need to wipe with Cleaner No.3. After waiting at least 1 minute, you can apply Shea Elixir with keratin to the cuticles.
Additional information about application:
You can use an alternate technique by curing nails one at a time when applying colour.
Spread the colour carefully at the cuticles and across the whole nail, then slightly lift the brush to even out the colour.
Gel polishes with particles require a perfectly prepared nail surface.
PROTIP:
When working with particle gel polishes, keep the brush pressed gently against the nail surface — the colour will settle and level better, leaving no streaks.
If a thicker layer is applied, a more abundant sticky layer may remain, making it harder to apply the top coat perfectly. In this case, it is best to remove the sticky layer before finishing to achieve a perfect light line.
